The last of October
We lock the garden gate.
"The flowers alive all withered
That used to stand straight.
The last of October
We put the swings away
And the porch looks deserted
Where we like to play.
The last of October
The birds have all flown,
The screens are in the attic,
The sand pile's all gone;
Everything is put away
Before it starts to snow---
I wonder if the ladybugs
Have any place to go.

Autumn Woods, Fine Art Photograph

AUTUMN WOODS

I like the woods
In autumn
When dry leaves hide the ground,
When the trees are bare
And the wind sweeps by
With a lonesome rushing sound.
I can rustle the leaves
In autumn
And I can make a bed
In the thick dry leaves
That have fallen
From the bare trees
Overhead.

Fall Leaves Photograph

I love fall.  This time of year reminds me of lots of fun things:  the promise of change, high school football, pumpkins, Halloween, hayrides, and most importantly,  changing leaves. 

I believe that fall foliage is God’s way of showing us how rich and vibrant nature can me.  When green leaves are transformed to bright yellow, red, and orange.

This year, I hand-picked a lot of leaves and rocks and brought them into my studio and laid them out on a surface by a window and photographed them in as many different ways I could think of.  This series of photos are the ones I liked best.

Daylily, Original Abstract Floral Fine Art Photograph

Here in Georgia, these orange beauties grow by the side of the road. To me, Daylilies symbolize courage and resistance. No matter what you do—you can’t kill a Daylily. “Daylily” is from my photo abstract series called Dreamscapes. “Daylily” was photographed using a Canon camera and a lensbaby lens—a selective focus lens. I combined several exposures in Abode Photoshop to complete the image. This photograph was taken on a roadside in Georgia.
