This silvery checkerspot butterfly was photographed early one morning—before it had warmed up enough to fly away. You may not be able to tell in the photograph, but the butterfly is drinking from a wild daisy. “Butterfly” is from my photo vignette series. This series focuses on creating art with a soft muted palette that gives it a vintage feel. “Butterfly” was photographed using a lensbaby lens—a selective focus lens. This photo was taken at Cochran Shoal area of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in Atlanta Georgia.
Prints of this fine art photograph are available in many different sizes. Please use the coupon code "welcome" if you're interested in purchasing a print. Visit my website and sign up my mailing list to be informed about sales and specials.
If you interested in photographing butterflies, there’s a wonderful article by Mr. Brown Thumb on Garden Section of “Chicago Now”. Mr. Brown Thumb suggests that since birds eat butterflies, try making yourself smaller. If your shadow falls on the butterfly, it may flight away. He also suggests that you photograph butterflies on cloudy days or early in the morning. Butterflies need the sun’s warm in order to fly. Read the entire article for more tips on photographing butterflies.

Sheep, Original Fine Art Digital Painting
This beautiful photo painting is of a cheviot sheep. Cheviots have clean faces, wooly bodies and big dark eye—they look like sheep from beautifully illustrated children’s book.
On a snowy day in February, I traveled up to a fellow sheep breeder's farm in order to photograph her Baby Doll lambs. Snow in Georgia is kinda rare. She had a couple of Cheviot sheep--I breed that I had never seen. I fell in love with this particular sheep—she’s so elegant and regal. I think this breed is the perfect artist sheep.
Like most sheep—she not very excited to have a stranger paying so much attention to her. She finally posed while getting a treat from her owner. For those of you who also do photo painting. . . I’m experimenting with a different style of photo painting. I guess the best way to describe it is more organic.
Prints are available in several squares sizes.

I don't have a name for this one yet. . . I really like the way it came out though. Kinda looks like stained glass.

Photo Impressionism Series--1

This piece was created from a photograph of azleas from Callaway gardens.
Photo Impressionism often involves creating multiple exposures of photos in camera as described by Freeman Patterson
I created the photos in this series by creating multiple exposures digitally. This is a series of abstracts based on a photo impressionism as described by Mark Johnson in one of the Photoshop workbench tutorials.
